The coastguard requested the ILB to land on the beach and adminstrate first aid. Helmsman Trower assesed the condition of the sea with his crew and then decided it was safe to beach the ILB  on the beach just south of the casuilty. Once on scene the crew gave 1st Aid while the coastguard tasked Rescue Helicopter128 to winch the casuilty to saftey. The final attempted was a line floated from the ALB to the crew on the beach who pulled a tow line ashore this was done succesfully ,the tow line was attached to the ILB and then the ALB towed the empty ILB to sea.
